Indulge in Scrumptious Coastal Cuisine during Virginia Beach's Winter Culinary and Wine Events
2010 Restaurant Week and “Wine by Design” events celebrate Coastal Cuisine and international wines( ‘OMG' Virginia Beach, Va., January 6, 2010) – In Virginia Beach, coastal cuisine is our forte. From January 17-24, 2010, indulge in the many flavors of the East Coast resort city at the 50 fine restaurants participating in the 5th Annual Restaurant Week, when Virginia Beach’s finest chefs create meals designed to tempt your taste buds. Then, on February 26, 2010, savor wines from around the world as the Contemporary Art Center of Virginia celebrates the 19th Annual Wine by Design.
Virginia Beach’s coastal cuisine boasts a rich culinary style with fresh seafood from the Atlantic mixed with organic produce straight from local Virginia Beach farms. The 2010 Virginia Beach Restaurant Week features those unique flavors perfect for every palate. Enjoy two-course prix fixe lunches for $10.10 and three-course prix-fixe dinners for $20.10 and $25.10 throughout the week at Terrapin, Coastal Grill, Fire and Vine, Croc’s 19th Street Bistro, Hot Tuna, and Isle of Capri, among others. Appetizers and main dishes range from pepper seared tuna, slow cooked prime rib, homemade crab bisque, and other deep-sea favorites. This year, the Virginia Beach Restaurant Week is partnering with the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia. Participating restaurants are collecting canned goods, accepting cash donations or offering a value-added opportunity that will benefit the Foodbank. The 2010 Virginia Beach Restaurant Week is presented by the Virginia Beach Restaurant Association. Reservations are recommended, but not required.
Wine is the perfect pairing with Virginia Beach’s coastal cuisine. During the 19th Annual Wine by Design at the Contemporary Art Center of Virginia, savor an amazing array of international wines selected by Farm Fresh wine experts. From 7 – 10 p.m., enjoy foods from the area’s most popular restaurants, try your luck during the silent auction, and delight in the live music. Tickets for the 19th Annual Wine by Design are $50 for members and $55 for non-members and can be purchased at www.cacv.org or at any Farm Fresh location.
After the 19th Annual Wine by Design, take your ticket stub to Catch 31 at the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront for an after-party. All proceeds from the event benefit the Contemporary Art Center’s exhibitions and educational programs.
The Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront also is offering a Wine by Design hotel package. For $239, guests will receive two Wine by Design tickets, a hotel room the evening of the event, breakfast for two and a complimentary shuttle to and from the Contemporary Art Center.
