Taste the Timeless Flavors and Recipes that make this Region Famous during the Fredericksburg Area's "Road to Salivation"
5th Annual Restaurant Week showcases area’s finest restaurants and culinary delights(Fredericksburg, Va., January 13, 2010) – Embark down the Fredericksburg area’s “Road to Salivation” to experience fresh local ingredients, light sauces, and daily pastas during the 5th Annual Restaurant Week from January 21 – February 1, 2010. Quaint bistros, corner delis, fragrant bakeries and Tuscan kitchens showcase the best cuisine of the area with magnificent flavorful dishes. Between bites, stroll through a Civil War-era historical home and explore acres of lush vineyards in the Fredericksburg area.
During the 5th annual Restaurant Week: The Road to Salivation, indulge in three-course prix fixe meals from some of the finest restaurants. Lunches are just $10.10 and dinners are only $20.10. Chefs will feature special menus to showcase their house specialties. Participating restaurants include: Bistro Bethem, Poppy Hill Tuscan Kitchen, kybecca Wine Bar, Capital Ale House, Jake and Mikes, Castigilia’s, Virginia Deli, University Café, J Brian’s, TruLuvs, Here and Abroad, The Griffin, The Olde Towne Butcher and Mocha Mo’s. Fredericksburg’s historical district boasts more than 30 chef-owned restaurants.
Your taste buds will explode as you sample the arugula salad with cranberries, feta, spicy walnuts and onions with blackberry balsamic dressing or grilled lamb lollipops over parsnip puree with asparagus coulis. Savor warm and comforting roasted tomato soup with Serrano cream endice and arugula salad with marcona almonds. Perhaps try the Grilled pumpkin spice pound cake topped with cinnamon vanilla butterscotch and nutmeg roasted pecans. In Fredericksburg, the flavor is as rich as the area’s history.
Other special offerings will be available at participating restaurants during the week as well. On January 23rd, Capital Ale House will host Dogfish Fest featuring more than 20 beers from Dogfish Head Brewery out of Delaware, with a special menu for the day to pair with the various beers featured.
Restaurant Week is presented by the City of Fredericksburg and sponsored in cooperation with downtown Fredericksburg restaurants.
